PADI E-LEARNING

The PADI System of diver education is the most instructionally solid system in diving. PADI courses are designed to make learning enjoyable and worthwhile. Under the guidance of your professional PADI Instructor, you gain confidence while mastering important safety concepts and skills. PADI Instructors are trained and held to diving’s highest standards, backed up by a solid, proactive quality management system.

PERFORMANCE BASED LEARNING

You progress at your own pace as you demonstrate mastery of specific performance requirements essential to becoming a scuba diver. You must earn your PADI certification, but you do so in an encouraging and well-supported learning environment.

EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS

Credentialed instructional designers use state-of-the-art technology and learning theories to create PADI materials with you, the student diver, in mind. Independent study materials, available in a variety of media – online programs, tablet-based apps, manuals, workbooks, multimedia discs, etc. – allow you to learn in a way that works for you. Instructional support materials allow your PADI Instructor to further explain important concepts and verify understanding.

KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT BY E-LEARNING

The PADI knowledge development system introduces the basic theory, principles and dive knowledge required for you to build progressively on your diving education and knowledge as you progress from beginner to advanced and beyond – this is completed via PADI’s e-Learning, either online via computer for e-Learning or offline if you prefer an iPad or other tablet.  This is hugely convenient because students can complete their theory preparation at their own pace according to their own schedule and preferred learning methods.

** Do let us know your preference for the e-Learning computer online or tablet offline… and we'll try our best to accommodate you**

HOW THE COURSES WORK

There are essentially two parts to the courses we offer:

• THEORY

Knowledge development sessions comprising theory and quizzes, which must be completed prior to the practical in water sessions. This introduces the basic principles and dive knowledge required for the particular course and is completed by “e-Learning” via computer, iPad or Android tablet – convenient because you can complete the theory at your own pace according to your own schedule.

• PRACTICAL

(1) Confined water training dives – where you learn and practice the necessary skills and procedures (we use the pools at Aberdeen Boat Club or Island School in Mid Levels and pool sessions are usually scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.)

Time: 19:45 – 22:30)

(2) Open water / boat dives: open water dives for the course are usually conducted over two days departing from Pak Sha Wan pier (Hebe Haven) in Sai Kung and diving at one of the local dive sites usually over a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) or consecutive Saturdays or Sundays depending on the boat schedule. Time: 08:45 – 16:30

• Be able to swim 200 metres and be able to tread water for 10 minutes (not as hard as it sounds…)

• You’ll also need to fill out a medical history form, and a liability release and assumption of risk form.

What’s included when you register with us:

• Access to online course and course material

• Log book
