RAID LEARN TO SCUBA APP

The RAID Learn To Scuba App has been developed to support the RAID online learning experience, and it works both online and offline, for all the courses that RAID offers.

It is the most advanced integrated training App and Web Site interface. RAID internet learning incorporates a pro-active quality control system developed for SCUBA dive training.

The App can do the following both ONLINE or OFFLINE?

• RAID has 88 courses that can be completed via the App. As soon as a new course is launched it is immediately available in the App.
• You can view all courses you have active, and completed.
• You can download all the user course manuals you need to complete your courses offline.
• You can download a choice of documents and save them to your mobile device.

• Instructor Skills Sign off:
any paid up RAID Instructor may login to the member’s App and sign off completed in water skills with their student, even when off line. However, the RAID App will only allow RAID Instructors who are qualified to teach a course to sign off skills online or offline. This is part of the pro-active quality control. Students, in turn, can then counter sign against the in water skill confirming, in real time, that they have completed the relevant skill to their satisfaction.

You can view all your logged dives and log new dives online and offline. Offline logged dives are auto synced as soon as you are online again.

The App can provide e-card notification for all courses, without charge and auto sync with the member’s online profile.

There is no other training agency App that does this, none! No need for an internet connection and no need to be near a RAID dive centre at all. Members can use the RAID App when diving in remote areas, for days or even weeks where there may be no internet online connections. As and when they get back to a location with internet connection the App then syncs and uploads all their logged information.

HOW THE COURSES WORK

There are essentially two parts to the courses we offer:

•THEORY

Knowledge development sessions comprising theory and quizzes, which must be completed prior to the practical in water sessions. This introduces the basic principles and dive knowledge required for the particular course and is completed by “e-Learning” via computer, iPad or Android tablet – convenient because you can complete the theory at your own pace according to your own schedule.

•PRACTICAL

- Confined water training dives: where you learn and practice the necessary skills and procedures (we use the pools at Aberdeen Boat Club or Island School in Mid Levels and pool sessions are usually scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.) Time: 19:45 – 22:30)

- Open water / boat dives: open water dives for the course are usually conducted over two days departing from Pak Sha Wan pier (Hebe Haven) in Sai Kung and diving at one of the local dive sites usually over a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) or consecutive Saturdays or Sundays depending on the boat schedule. Time: 08:45 – 16:30

Prior to registering for the course you’re required:

•To be able to swim 200 metres and be able to tread water for 10 minutes (not as hard as it sounds…)

•You’ll also need to fill out a medical history form, and a liability release and assumption of risk form

What’s included when you register with us:

•Access to online course and course material

•Log book

•Instructor and certification fees

•Pool hire and boat hire costs

•Free use of all necessary SCUBA equipment (BCD, regulator, SPG, wetsuit, mask, fins, tanks)

SKILLS PRACTICE

Some basic skills you'll practice - first in confined water, or a pool, and then later when you make your first open water dives they'll already be familiar exercises...
